This is perhaps the most interesting commission to build a bespoke website that we have ever undertaken.

The client's idea was simple enough: to be able to review graphic novels, allow any user to log in and write their own reviews and offer a database of all known graphic novels.  However, organizing the data was to prove a challenge!

A novel had to be categorized by it's author, artist, publisher and series.  However, there could be more than one of each.

What we produced was an extremely versatile data model to store all their data.  They were provided with an administration area for adding data and uploading images, and the server categorizes everything.  It also generates all the internal links in a web-friendly format, so it's possible to move around the site with ease.

Images uploaded by the administrators are automatically resized on the server by our software, because image manipulation is time consuming, and the clients' time was important.

The site also boasts a login area for members, with all the standard features of a membership-based website.

Members can write their own reviews of novels they have read, and even leave feedback on reviews by other members.  There are also Forums, where members can discuss topics of interest.
